Maker City is a state-of-the-art community workspace for entrepreneurs, makers, designers, artists, and anyone with curious mind who wants to make something.
Our mission statement is to promote and encourage creative, technical and scientific skills through social collaboration and education; and to provide and maintain a shared community workspace and equipment in Porthleven Cornwall.

What to Expect.

Community Workshop
Maker City will have a social community workshop in Porthleven. Catering for a wide range of activities, we have specialist equipment for members to learn, invent, create and play. The equipment ranges from sewing machines and crafting tools to 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers and metal lathes.

Learning & Classes
Maker City will host events, exhibitions, and provide workspace, training, courses, forum and classes for all ages. Acting as a showcase shop front for Porthleven’s communities of makers and creatives. We envisage including a repair cafe, a makers and materials library STEAM focus, and an emphasis on re-use and the circular economy.

Fabrication Services
Maker City can provide a variety of fabrication services for a small number of customers. Using our specialist equipment such as 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC machining, Large Format Printing and Vinyl Cutting.

Business Incubation
If students or makers have an innovative build that they think could become an commercial product, then there are a number of avenues Maker City can help with support to help launch a businesses by offering design, web development and manufacturing services.

Maker Web Store
An online store for anyone to buy Makers creations and for Makers to buy equipment and materials. We can help with product photography and ecommerce solutions to help get your product to market

Tool Libary
Maker City tool library is a place where Porthleven residents can come and rent out tools and equipment to help maintain and fix-up their homes, start a garden or project, and improve their communities. In addition to lending tools out, we can also facilitate low cost high impact community development projects.

Maker City can provide a variety of fabrication services for a small number of customers. Using our specialist equipment and workshop.
Although we encourage all our users to become members, we realise you might need a quick turnaround, and can offer many of our services 24/7.
Our starting point can be a concept, sketch or a even a few words of description. We’ll meet with you and agree a concept then develop it to the finished product.
No project is too small and we strive on generating creative solutions for uncommon issues.
